The 3D printing process termed SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) digitally renders three-dimensional objects layer by layer using laser-based heat in polyamide powder.

Each frame comes glazed with Zeiss tinted sun lenses including “an exclusive gold anti-glare, hydrophobic, nano-coating.” Tints provided were specifically catered toward increased visibility for golfers on the green and handily a nice contrast to the natural greys that Vancouver persists in providing.

Mykita is the first company to begin making eyewear with the SLS technology, starting several years ago with project collaborations with designers Rad Hourani, Romain Kremer, Bernhard Willhelm and more recently, Moncler.

Cutler & Gross has stepped it up again, collaborating with Giles Deacon on this crazy cat-eye sunglass! They’ve freshened up the classic look with a flashy coloured-mirror! Available in Black with blue mirror, Pink with green mirror, and Dark Tortoise in blue mirrored Zeiss glass lenses.
