Note to self…

…when someone asks you, on a snowy day in the Great White North, to run out and get their glasses out of the vehicle? You must either a) make sure they don’t have a camera or b) dress in fashionable street clothing, not pajamas and the BF’s boots and insulated plaid jacket. At bruce eyewear, we are style leaders. Cooler than those tri-coloured popsicles we used to eat on hot sunny days. More hip than….your average hippo. When confronted with our gaffes? We post a photo and use tragedy as a teachable moment.
Over.

Welcome Kowalski to bruce eyewear!!

This leather-goods manufacturer has started making eyewear with a distressed look. Their acetate frames have a “used” appearance, complete with broken temples pieced back together. Comes in a lovely pre-worn leather case!

“Each pair of acetate frames hand-made in Germany is worked individually using files, wire brushes, sand paper and a polishing machine until they have acquired the desired patina,” says their website. Even the metallic parts have been synthetically oxidized to give them a vintage appearance. This means each piece is unique - having its own patterns of wear and tear.

Above that, bruce eyewear’s pieces from this company are one of a kind: we had the manufacturers construct our frames free of outside logos, moving the Kowalski signature to the inside of the temple; promoting our conscious effort to keep visible branding to a minimum.

Promoting a fond nostalgic feeling, these pre-loved frames feel like putting on a pair of your favourite old blue jeans. Vintage frames with full warranty. Talk about the best of both worlds…
