introducing BARTON PERREIRA

Sunday, January 22nd, 2012

Welcome to our first new line of 2012: Barton Perreira from Los Angeles.

Not a person but the work of Bill Barton and Patty Perreira, former Oliver Peoples designers who set off on their own to create a new collection. Patty’s influence draws from 20 years experience working for brands such as Miu Miu, Jil Sander, Opening Ceremony and Vera Wang. The two form a duo dedicated to pure luxury, redefined style and elegance.

Using Japanese acetates and manufacturing, these frames are truly gorgeous. Soft shapes in bold crystalline colours create a flattering fit. Available now, but not for long!

Dita X Thom Browne

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

Yes, it has arrived: Thom Browne’s notorious collaboration with Dita Eyewear is in stock now at Bruce, side-shields and all.

From New York, well known menswear designer Thom Browne has an eye toward the past with his recent eyewear and sunglass collection. Many of his shapes are reminiscent of the chunky and squared off 50s look, including combination frames of titanium and Japanese acetate.

However, Browne seems also to be reaching further back to nostalgic rounds and fine metals of the early 20th century, touching on military garb with cable-temples, varying styles of side-shields and sunglass clips. Finished in platinum and 18k gold, these hand-crafted titanium frames are solid in construction, and classically delicate in appearance.

Continuing with Dita’s reputation for exquisite manufacturing quality, these pieces are each finished with temple-tips featuring Browne’s signature americana stripes. Beautifully traditional, yet refreshingly innovative.

Even before handling, these glasses speak for themselves. Quality design and craftsmanship makes them feel as good as they look. See more images here or come by and try them on.

Thank you to the Vancouver Sun for dropping our name in the January 2nd issue regarding this collection!
